A 200 Hour YTTC does not only teach you yoga poses. It slowly changes the way you understand your own body.
Before training, many students practice yoga by looking at the outer shape of a posture. They think about touching the toes, going deeper into a stretch, or making the pose look “correct.” But during a 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training Course, you begin to notice something different.
You start understanding how your body actually moves.
You learn why your hips feel tight, why your shoulders may not open easily, why your lower back needs support, or why one side of the body feels completely different from the other. Through alignment, anatomy, breathwork, and daily practice, you begin to listen more carefully.
This is where the real shift happens.
A 200 Hour YTTC teaches you that every body is different. Not every pose will look the same for every person, and that is completely okay. You learn when to go deeper, when to modify, and when to rest.
You also become more aware of your breath. Sometimes the body is not resisting because it is weak, but because the breath is tense and the mind is rushing. Once the breath becomes steady, the body often starts to feel safer and more open.
By the end of the training, you may not just become better at yoga poses. You become better at understanding yourself.
That is one of the most beautiful parts of a 200 Hour YTTC — it teaches you to stop forcing the body and start working with it.
